SALA LAGUNA hosts the “Venetian Nights” off section realised by the Giornate degli Autori in agreement with Isola Edipo, dedicated to the world première of Italian films; in 2022 will be 9 world premieres, under the artistic direction of Silvia Jop and Gaia Furer, dedicated to the investigation of the relationship between cinema and the arts. To accompany the screenings there will be meetings with productions, cast, and realities of international scope. In addition to the activities mentioned, the theatre will also host screenings, meetings and debates promoted by the partners involved in the programming throughout the Festival.

History

The project of restoration and return of the hall to the community emerged from an unprecedented collaboration between the Edipo Re Social Enterprise, the Parish of St. Anthony, the Patriarchate of Venice, the Giornate degli Autori cultural association and the company Dogale Costruzioni. The roots of this partnership are represented by the shared desire to give life to new projects and meeting spaces at a time like this, strongly marked by the effects of the pandemic on the lives of all of us. project that has completed a journey in progress for more than five years, which has been able to enjoy the patronage of the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Venice and the generosity with which La Biennale makes the growth and development of synergies indispensable for the territory around the Film Festival possible each year.
